The King Fahd Hotel and conference center is located in the Almadies residential area of Dakar, one of the most pleasant neighborhood to live in Dakar. It is located nearby the seaside and its string of nice seaside restaurants, a stone’s throw away from the Almadies handicraft market. There are also a few handicraft shops within walking distance from the hotel. Being located in the northern fringe of the Dakar peninsula, the access to and from the Blaise Diagne International Airport is also quite easy. The hotel has a top notch conference center.

IDVII is expected to attract about 350 leading scientists and students from the public and private sector, and from all continents. The conference is very timely in view of the impending global food deficit, the associated need to enhance the rate of increase in crop productivity, and the exacerbation of these issues by global climate change. Farmers are seeking solutions for sustaining livelihoods under these circumstances in both developing and developed countries.
